What Are Focus Markers?

Focus marker stickers are small triangular tabs that you place on your lens's focus ring. They serve as physical reference points — when the marker aligns with a specific position on the lens barrel, you know exactly where your focus is set.

This is essential for manual focus pulling in narrative filmmaking, where actors hit specific marks and the focus puller needs to nail the same focus distance on every take.

Why Color-Coding Matters

A 5-color system (Red, Pink, Blue, Green, Yellow) lets you assign different colors to different focus distances within the same scene. For example:

• Red: Actor's mark at the door (8 feet)
• Blue: Actor's mark at the desk (4 feet)
• Green: Close-up position (2 feet)

Instead of memorizing numbers on the lens barrel, you simply pull to the color. It's faster, more reliable, and reduces errors under pressure.

Material & Adhesive Quality

Not all focus markers are created equal. Cheap tape leaves residue on expensive lenses. Our ABS matte vinyl markers use a residue-free adhesive that holds firmly during use but peels off cleanly — no sticky mess on your lens.
